On the bed;
in between breaths,
your patient muse

A categorical array
of dystopian fiction.

I leave the light on,
to watch you reveal
your inadequacies.

As you dig into mine,
my flesh, my heart,
and pull out what desire has trapped within.

The desolation of my
repentance; the serenity
of my conjoined remainder.

She has thought,
as I have breath.

Who will reap these lungs?
